RPS have been nominated by South West Railways to undertake DC traction load assessments for various sites.  The requirement was solely for the purpose of the ETE works associated with ‘Plan C’ Berthing.

​DC Traction Load Assessments are calculated based on information provided by Train Operating Company (TOC), which consist of –

• ​Existing Berthing plan;

• Proposed Berthing plan;

• Rolling stock Characteristics;

• Knowledge of Depot Operation.

RPS staff has extensive knowledge on DC Electrification systems that helps to produce safe and compliant documentation.  RPS work closely with the TOC to ensure there is no operational constraints, deficiencies or overloading of the DC traction electrification system.

Calculations have been undertaken for –

• Clapham Junction Depot;

• Basingstoke Down Sidings;

• Farnham Depot;

• Fratton Sidings;

• Strawberry Hill Depot;

• Wimbledon Depot.
